Why you need a suspension enhancement system

Hauling heavy loads is hard on your truck. Moreover, tow sway, body roll and suspension sag can make it difficult to control your vehicle. The good news is you don’t have to replace your entire suspension to improve your ride and ease the stress on your truck. Here’s why you should consider installing a suspension enhancement system (SES).

What is a suspension enhancement system?

Factory suspension systems are fitted with bump stops between the vehicle’s frame and the axle. If you drive over a large pothole or hit a bump and the suspension reaches full compression, the bump stop prevents the axle from hitting the frame and damaging the vehicle.

An SES modifies the bump stops, making them more rigorous. They’re typically large rubber springs that sit where the bump stops usually do. If you have a heavy load in your truck’s bed or towing a loaded trailer, the SES will engage, preventing the truck from sagging and significantly reducing trailer roll and sway. Installing an SES allows you to tow with more comfort, safety and stability.

Benefits of using an SES

Installing an SES has many benefits for you and your truck.

Better ride quality. Eliminating sagging and body roll increases ride comfort, making your truck easier to control even in challenging driving conditions.

Increased safety. The rubber springs absorb shock from potholes and bumps, automatically adjusting if you have an uneven load or encounter bad road conditions.

Easy to install. Using a few standard tools, you can easily install an SES in a few minutes. There are no holes to drill or air lines to install. Plus, once installed, they’re maintenance-free and will last many years.

Applications for suspension enhancement systems

Trucks hauling trailers can benefit from an SES. However, an SES has many more applications, including:

Trucks with snowplows. Suspension upgrades prevent the front from drooping while lifting the plow. They also increase traction.

Work trucks. An SES can increase the lifespan of work trucks that haul heavy loads daily, reducing repairs and downtime.

Slide-in campers and RVs. An SES prevents your truck from sagging in the rear when a slide-in camper is on the bed. Moreover, suspension upgrades eliminate roll and sway for top-heavy RVs, improving handling and safety.
