Why You Need a Bed Liner for Your Truck

Your truck is one of the best all-purpose tools you can have. Not only is it a powerful machine that can help you move even the heaviest of loads, it can also be customized with various accessories to help with specific tasks, depending on what you want to achieve.

One of the most useful truck accessories you can put in your arsenal is a liner for your truck bed. Your truck is built to handle all sorts of situations but that doesn’t make it invincible. A truck bed liner adds a little extra protection, protects your truck’s resale value, and keeps your truck’s bed looking as good as new. At Hitch City, we provide two kinds of bed liner, drop-in liners and sprayed-on liners, so you can choose which is best for how you use your truck.

These linings can take anything you can throw at them, protecting your truck from physical damage, fertilizers, salt, fuel, and even UV rays. It’s ribbed constructions also helps direct water out of the bed, keeping your load free of pooling water. A good truck bed lining can allow it to remain chip and dent free much longer than it would otherwise, extending the life of your truck.

What are the advantages of sprayed-on lining?

At Hitch City, we like to provide our customers with every option for truck accessories. The best bed liner option is a sprayed-on bed liner. Hitch City utilizes Rhino Sprayed-On Linings where we are #1 in North America. Unlike a drop-in bed liner, dirt and debris can get in-between the bed and liner. Overtime the dirt and debris build ups scratching the truck and eventually results in the truck bed rusting. This will not happen with a sprayed-on bed liner. A sprayed-on liner becomes a part of the truck bed providing the toughest in-bed protection.

It’s typically sprayed up to one eighth of an inch to prevent damage from chemicals, corrosion and physical impacts. As a bonus, it also provides great non-slip flooring. A fun fact about Rhino Sprayed-On Linings: it used to be only for military vehicles, but later made available for truck beds.

What are the advantages of drop-in lining?

Drop-in lining, as the name suggests, is a sheet of moulded polyethylene that is custom designed for a factory-perfect fit in the bed of your truck. This sheet of tough plastic is placed on top of the bed and prevents any damage that might happen to the cargo box and tailgate of your truck. Luckily, unlike some accessories, there very likely won’t be any drilling or other alteration to your truck. Most models are designed to have linings so it’s just a matter of choosing the lining that’s right for you and installing it.
